What should be a joyous blog post celebrating my solid month has been soured by my retardedness tonight of playing £6knl and losing a good chunk of my hard earned profits from this month (-£5k). There was a huge huge whale there and I suppose it could have gone well but after only grinding 200nl for a month, to go and put it all on the line there is pretty fucking stupid. This is gonna make for a horror show of next months graph and a pretty depressing few days from me. Just need to knuckle down and continue grinding. I've been playing so much better than I did towards the end of last year.

This is my biggest losing day at poker by a long way, but at the end of the day, it's £5k. Most people do something a lot more degen throughout their poker/gambling life, I'm just such a tightarse and so careful with my money that I haven't really allowed this kind of thing to happen to me, since I've had any decent kind of roll. It's still not a great loss compared to other stories I've heard, but it is hurting pretty bad right now.

Another terrible month. I've not played since the 16th December when I realized my head was too fucked to keep playing and chasing in the hopes of not having another big losing month.

The break has done me good though and I'm ready to get back to the tables and hopefully play a lot better.

I'm going to stick to 200nl for January at least, but possibly February as well. Get some drive and focus back and put in proper volume.

Last year was really disappointing after a great start then a period of playing well... then a clear deterioration. I seem to go through phases of playing like a complete and utter retard.

This year I will be much more self aware of when problems are starting to come up. I will evaluate my play much more and will seek out and listen to what other people have got to say and get a much better feel for how other regs are thinking in different spots.

I'm gonna plan my poker playing a lot more and make a schedule and stick to it as much as possible. I'm gonna drink less and keep going to the gym which is the only positive thing out of the last few months. I'm gonna schedule 3 or 4 day breaks each month when I don't even think about poker.

Also gonna play some live events.

Feeling positive now, gonna soon post some specific goals in terms of hands, target bb/100 and overall profit for 2012.

I would hope to make at least £75k next year. It's gonna be difficult and will require a lot more hard work but I think I can do it.

Another holiday this month which was to Malta and was amazing. On 13th of the month I'd only done 3k hands and was down £1k, so I'm v please with how this month turned out. Next month off to Vienna for 4 or 5 nights, hopefully play a live tourney or 2 and see if my luck in Austria can continue.

Feel like I've been playing good but for sure need to put more volume in.

Had lots of time off for a few weekends away and tooka good 4 days to recover after TITP. Put money on Party and Stars. Did 28k hands on iPoker, 6.3k on Party and fuck all apart from a few losing HU sessions on stars. Paid £480 rake on Party, not sure how much or when I will get any of that back, the main thing is I'm playing better and that I keep winning.

Had what I think is my best day at cash on the last of the month. Ran well at the 6m tables and managed to get a whale at $600hu. Ended that day at 6pm £3.6k up, then went out to celebrate.

Finally on top of my non-showdown winnings (lol losings more like), was even till the last day of the month when I dropped over £1k (playing a fish that never folds A high HU).

Next month more of the same, got a weeks holiday though so volume will probably be similar. Hopefully more than 40k hands though.
