68.2k hands

108 hours, 631 hands/hr

+£3,000 cash games
+£3,540 rakeback
+£1,000 live poker (small cash in EPT Madrid side event)

+£7,540 total

Well looking back at last months blog I apparently wanted to play 80k hands. I think is is too much. Saying that I did manage 68k which is still a hell of a lot in a month when I took a 5 day trip to Madrid. I also took the last 3 days off as well because I felt I needed a break. It's 4 days into April now and I'm glad I did that.

The standard in the €1k side event was a lot higher than I'd imagined it to be. Early on there were a few clowns but towards the last 3 or so tables there weren't really any weak spots at the table (if you can't spot the fish within 5 mins...). But yeah my short stacking tourney game probably does need some work. I did make a few moves but only enough to stay afloat and looking back I could have gambled a bit more and given myself a better chance of chipping up towards the end. I think I wasn't confidant enough in my 3b/4b/5b game with shorter stacks so I nitted it up to avoid any huge mistakes. Before the next tourney I play I shall defiantly be going over those strategies a bit more.

Anyway, online I felt my play dipped in the middle of the month. Probably due to autopilot. Unsurprisingly my red line dropped drastically during this time but was breakeven again for the last 20k hands or so. People may say it's BS but I do really think the redline shows when I'm not playing 100%.

April goals are to focus on quality of play rather than quantity, although I will hopefully do at least 50k hands. Playing less tables is gonna happen this month and I will probably mix in some $400nl as well. Both these things should allow me to game select better.

The state of the games on iPoker is also of concern. They have been patchy to say the least. Sometimes I should probably just refuse to play a session when they are really bad as it tilts me hard that noone will start tables and that when eventually a fish does sit, the table watching, software using scum manage to insta-sit with position on the fish.

Anyway. A quarter through the year and only £10k up. It's kind of in line with last year but I know I'm capable of so much more. I'm really trying and will be working on my game a lot more away from the tables, possibly with the help of a coach.

JANUARY = +£12,005
FEBRUARY = -£9,300
MARCH = £7,540

TOTAL = +£10,245
